Introducing: Wonder Bikes

Personally, I'm a sucker for anything that has to do with bikes. I'm the 39 year old kid that feels cranky if I've not been able to ride a bicycle or motorcycle every single day. For example, today I rode my titanium Airborne bicycle at 5:30 am just to get my fix.
There are lots of blogs I follow to keep me up on what's happening in the motorcycle industry. One of these blogs is the BIKEEXIF blog where I first learned about Jason Wonder in this post.
First off, I LOVE the style of bikes that were featured on BIKEEXIF (you can also follow their tweets here: @bikeexif). On that article is Jason on his REV 1. He's since built a REV 2 and you can see gallery pics of it here.
Jason's style is to build bikes that look amazing, minimalistic, and a little angry. They are also built to ride. Jason is a gear head and he is also very in tune with where form meets function. His father was a professional flat track racer so Jason's grown up around bikes and specifically around the track. It shows in his work.
Jason also grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas. My family has a lot of roots there. I went to college in Wichita Falls at Midwestern State University and my wife grew up in that town. So there's an immediate kinship I feel with people from the great city of Wichita Falls.
If you look at both the REV 1 and the REV 2, you will see a bike that is long, lean, and ready to ride. In particular the REV 2 has a shorter rake and has seen a few days on the track. These bikes are very powerful and very light weight.
Right now Jason is building the REV 3. It's going to be a big next step from the REV 2. He's building it for me. When I first called him I told him I was inspired by his REV line and that I'm a 6 foot 7 inch rider who has difficulty fitting bikes. Jason is 6 foot 5 inches so he was very understanding. We spent a great deal of time together designing what we felt would be the ultimate REV 3. I'm an impatient person by nature, but I've learned to back off and let Jason work his magic.
Fast forward, I introduced Jason to the team here and we all appreciated his passion and taste in how he builds his bikes. He wanted help with his brand. It was an easy decision for us to jump in. He arguably has the most beautiful and most ride-able bikes in the custom bike industry and we wanted the world to take notice of his tremendous work.
So, this past Friday, we quietly launched the WonderBikes.com website and his new brand identity. It's been in the works for a while now and we're really proud of the final product. As part of the launch we printed some t-shirts here in the studio and celebrated pushing the launch button. We hope motorcycle enthusiasts appreciate his work and can learn from the forward thinking design approach of Wonder Bikes.
The WonderBikes.com website is built on WordPress 3.0.1. The theme has been completely customized for improved user interactions and social media integration. A custom gallery was created to allow for easy uploads and gallery creations plus the ability to select a specific gallery item and forward to a friend. A custom carousel was created to feature the beauty of Wonder Bikes at the top of the website (using jQuery).
